WORKING HARD TO SAVE
KEY SPECIES OF CONSERVATION CONCERN
The Thrussendale Herd of Society registered Pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle was a much respected source of calm, easy calving, high health and welfare, premium breeding bulls for the commercial beef and dairy sectors.
The herd was dispersed at a successful full farm dispersal sale held on the farm on 30th August 2019 with bulls, and female breeding stock, being purchased by buyers from around the country.
The farm business has now diversified, and evolved, into a well balanced farming enterprise together with a premium holiday Glamping destination. It has also embraced a commitment to nature & ecology aiming to protect species that are already present on the farm whilst also attracting exciting new species.
A full farm Wildlife Habitat Improvement Plan has now been developed by a respected team of local Ecologists.
Work is already well underway to enhance habitats and species based on survey data gathered.
Future farming operations will support this and work within a balanced framework.
Our mission was always to breed easily handled, high health and welfare, pedigree Thrussendale prefix Aberdeen Angus bulls and heifers of the very highest quality. Now we are developing new farming operations that will work in harmony with our crucially important wildlife objectives
